March on Washington MLKJR Day, D.C., 2021
“There is a knee upon the neck of democracy & our nation can only live so long without the oxygen of freedom.”
Martin Luther King Jr. III
Witnessing this speech at the historic March on Washington in DC last August was one of the most moving experiences I’ve had in my life. Dr. King spoke through his son and his granddaughter that day. I felt it as well as everyone else there.
I cried in the middle of the press pit listening to Yolanda Renee King. People all around me were crying. It was truly a historic moment to be a part of. I hope this short piece helps encapsulate the importance of #MLKJR’s impact on our world. His family has propelled his legacy like a slingshot through history, from the #CivilRights movement, into today’s Black Lives Matter movement.

LISTEN TO HER. I want to thank all of my donors for helping me make the trip to DC a reality. This is one of the most important moments I have ever captured.
It is just a small fraction of what I shot while in our nation's capital during this moment's time in history.
